Once you’ve subscribed, you will have access to your queue on our shared Trello board. Here, you can add as many design requests as you’d like. They will be delivered one by one with an average turnaround time of 48 hours.

Most requests are completed in an average of 2-3 business days, Mon – Fri.

More complex requests, however, can take longer, so the 2-3 day promise becomes more of a check-in to show the progress made on the complex request.

We believe in the principle of American-made design, which means we never outsource your creative work to someone overseas who is completely disconnected from our business industry trends and, more importantly, your business goals.

Our team is small but mighty, which means you will work directly with Pete, the founder of The Design Dept., and, depending on the needs of the design request, an exclusive list of trusted and vetted subcontractors on an as-needed basis.

We understand you may not always have enough design work to fill up an entire month. Perhaps you only have one or two design requests at the moment. That's where pausing your subscription comes in handy.

To be more specific, we do not offer refunds of payments, however, let's say there are 30 days in the month and you sign up and use the service for 10 days, and then decide to pause your subscription. This means that the billing cycle will be paused and you'll have 20 days of service remaining to be used anytime in the future.

Most requests are designed using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, or Figma.

We use Trello as a shared project board where you can collaborate with us, give feedback, and leave new design requests.

Some common ways clients request designs are directly in Trello, sharing Google Drive links, Dropbox, or even recording brief Loom videos.

No worries! The beauty of the subscription is that it’s one flat investment per month with no added hourly fees for revisions. You will not be charged for anything outside of your monthly payment.

Great question! Although we cover almost all types of design, we do not typically cover 3D modeling, comprehensive document design (medical forms, etc.), complex packaging, and extensive print design (magazines, books, etc.).

That's totally fine. You can pause your subscription when the project is finished and return when you have additional design needs. There's no need to waste the remainder of your subscription!
